Here's How Many Tickets Police Dished Out, How Many Were Charged With DUI Over Thanksgiving

Connecticut State Police dished out hundreds of tickets and charged dozens with DUI during their Thanksgiving weekend details across the state.

During the special details -- which ran from midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 27 to 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1 -- troopers patrolled the roads and highways for drunken driving violations as well as aggressive drivers.

Here are the results of their efforts:

  • Calls for service: 7,205
  • Speeding violations: 385
  • Seatbelt violations: 20
  • Other hazardous violations: 1257 (including unsafe lane change, following too closely, cell phone usage, texting, failure to signal, etc.)
  • DUI arrests: 52
  • Accidents investigated: 593
  • With injuries: 61
  • Fatal: 2
